I’ve had them over a month now and have had more opportunities to test them- finally in the wet today. They are definitely water resistant. Three hours of a walking tour started in the dry but soon changed to drizzle then heavier showers then steady rain. The trousers kept all that rain out. The 45 minute cycle to the train was a sterner test and they held out for 25-30 minutes. I did have waterproof over trousers but wanted to test these out and also not get too sweaty. Trousers were mostly dried out after an hour on the train for the last drizzly ride home. A nice relaxed fit with the straps good for a snug fit around the ankle (also works for keeping them clear of bike chains!). For Hill walking in the summer they’re probably too warm but fine for recent cooler spring weather in the Lake District. Very pleased with my third purchase from Fortis.

I really love the trousers and they appear to be a better quality than the previous pair that I owned, however only upon the second time of wearing them in just casual use, the thread for one of the two waist buttons has snapped and is now hanging off, which is quite disappointing given they are still essentially brand new. I had trouble with a Fortis fleece last year where the cuff was not properly stitched, even when new.

I use these for picking up. They keep me warm and dry, they are comfortable and very tough (I have walked through deep brambles and not a mark on them).

I ordered the trousers at the Game Fair in 2022. I have a short inseam so they were tailored to fit, including knee reinforcement, result a perfect fit. As for the quality I have been out in torrential rain all day and was as dry as a bone. Certainly the best. Bob Phillips
