You will be sent a shipping confirmation from DPD / DHL once your order has been dispatched from if you have provided us with an email address or mobile phone number. Our standard UK delivery is via DPD Next Working Day. International orders can take anywhere from 2-14 working days to arrive so please make sure you place your order allowing plenty of time.
Please not we endeavour to dispatch your order straight away however during sale periods this could take 2-3 working days.
Our team are pretty quick at picking and packing so we are unable to make changes to products on your order. Please check your confirmation as soon as you have placed your order and send through any address changes to info@fortisclothing,co.uk as soon as you can. We cannot guarantee the changes will be made but we’ll do our very best.
We are unable to stock all our made to order items as most of our products are available to be made in many different fabric and colours meaning that once each item is made in each colour and each size option we would have thousands of garments to stock. Being a small family run business based in an old converted barn we simply do not have the space or manufacturing capacity to operate this way unfortunately. On the plus side, being bespoke made to order means that customers can request various additions and or alterations to our garments.
We are however a growing business, we have completed an extension onto our manufacturing area and have just had one apprentice pass her course and is now full time in our manufacturing area with another just starting her training due to the struggle to find production staff as there are so few British Manufacturers left.
We have in the last year started to stock some of our popular garments, we hope in the future we can expand on this and of course open stores / stockists!

We prefer that purchases made online are to be returned through completing our online returns form however we are happy for you to drop your return to us at our showroom in Devon however there may not always be a member of staff who can process a refund so it may not be completed right away. We will not accept any returns, repairs or exchanges at shows.
Yes, we do, as we close down for 2-3 weeks at Christmas to give our manufacturing team a well-deserved break.
We are usually pretty quick to process your returns but please do bear in mind that there may be delays after very busy periods like sales. We aim to process your returns within 1 week but it may take up to 2 weeks.

Wash in a normal wash no higher than 30 degrees using a non-bio detergent and leave to drip dry. You can find more information here.

Do I need to reproof my Fortis clothing?
We would recommend our very popular Fortis Water Repellent, the perfect add on for your Fortis Garments! Fortis Water Repellent works on most fabrics and materials including; nylon, wool, tweed, fleece, soft shells, Gortex and most other man-made and natural fibres.
Yes we do, all of our products come with a 1 year warranty unless otherwise stated as there are a few products with a 4 year warranty. Where your product is under warranty your garment will be repaired or replaced free of charge. Outside of warranty a charge will apply depending on the work needed. If the work is likely to be costly we will also give you the option of purchasing a replacement at a discounted price.
To return your Fortis garment you MUST ensure that the garment has been WASHED before sending back as our seamstresses cannot work on dirty garments as it will cause damage to our expensive machinery. Please ensure you read our Returns and Exchanges page carefully and complete a Returns Form before you send your garment back to avoid it being sent back to you without the repair being completed.
Please don’t wait until the start of shooting season to send back a product needing to be repaired as we will be at our busiest time of the year. Get it to us at the end of the season so you can pop it away and it will be ready when you get it out at the beginning of next shooting season.

Our turn around times on garments vary. Some products are stocked and will be clearly marked online if this is the case.
Most of our products are made to order and generally will be with you from anywhere between 2 – 4 weeks unless otherwise stated along the orange banner at the top of the website. During our busy show season our products can take up to 8 weeks due to the hundreds of orders the manufacturing team are working on. If you are after a product by a certain date please do call the office prior to placing your order and a member of the team can look into how soon we can get it to you to avoid disappointment.
Generally our items should fit within our size guide, if you are unsure however as some products do vary as the majority are unisex, please do get in touch with us and a member of the team will be able to advise you.
As we are a made to order service, generally, no job is too big or too small. If we haven’t made that particular garment in your size before we will need to liaise with our Head of Production to work out the lead times it would take to create this new pattern. Therefore there is likely to be an additional cost and a longer turn around time due to the additional work involved. Pop us an email or give us a call and we will get back to you asap.
